Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Dillon Sheppard is convinced that their stalemate against Golden Arrows should have ended in three points.
Amakhosi were held to a 0-0 draw by Abafana Bes’thende this past weekend at Mbombela Stadium, a result that saw them record a single point in each four of their last five matches.
Fernando Da Cruz’s charges also remained in fourth place on the Betway Premiership standings behind AmaZulu in third.
Chiefs have themselves to blame for not walking away with maximum points after midfielder Lebohang Maboe also saw his spot kick saved, with Sheppard further adding that they did not do enough to come out victorious.
“It was a fair result. They had a couple of chances, especially near the end, but overall, I think we deserved to win it if you look at the balance of the chances,” he told the club’s official website.
“We have been getting into the final third, which is where the action happens near the opposition box. Our creativity has been good; it’s just a matter of sticking our chances away.
“The good thing is that we are creating chances. That’s a positive so we just have to carry on with that.”
The Glamour Boys will be back in action when they face Stellenbosch FC in the Betway Premiership on Saturday, 17th of October, at FNB Stadium.
