Bafana Bafana have moved four places to climb into spot number 50 in the latest FIFA Coca-Cola Rankings for the first time in 15 years with 1460.12 points.
This is South Africa’s highest ranking since October 2011, ironically when Pitso Mosimane was in charge.

Bafana’s ranking comes days after they beat Guinea 2-1 in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations Group D Qualifying opener at Orlando Amstel Arena courtesy of strikes from Ime Okon and Samukele Kabini.
Mosimane’s charges are now preparing for a tricky away clash against minnows Eritrea, who held Kenya to a 1-1 draw, and are ranked 184 globally.
World champions Spain occupy top spot after their triumph in the Americas while runners-up Argentina sit second.
France take the number three spot followed by England in fourth place while Africa’s highest ranked side Morocco are in number five.
Brazil (6), Portugal (7), Belgium (8), Netherlands (9), and Mexico complete the top 10 best teams in the world.
