HomeAfrica Cup Of Nations'Bafana Will Surprise A Lot Of People'

‘Bafana Will Surprise A Lot Of People’

Black Leopards and Namibia forward Bethuel Muzeu says he is backing the remaining national teams from the COSAFA region to go much further at the on-going Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Ironically the remaining teams from the South, Angola and South Africa are the only teams that the Brave Warriors lost to at the competition.

They went down 4-0 to Bafana Bafana in the group stage and 3-0 to Angola in the Last 16, which essentially sent them packing.

Angola will face five-time champions Nigeria in the quarter-finals this coming weekend, while Bafana face Morocco this Tuesday for a place in the last eight.

Namibia enjoyed a good group stage run that saw them win their first match at the AFCON finals against Tunisia and held Mali to a draw.

The 23-year-old who assisted Deon Hotto’s goal against Tunisia is adamant that Bafana will surprise a lot of people at the tournament but they also need to believe that.

“To be honest Angola will go far and as you know South Africa will surprise a lot of people,”  Muzeu told iDiski Times.

“Those guys [Bafana-Bafana], I cannot lie to you, they have quality. They have quality and if only they knew the quality they have in them.

“South Africa has quality and I trust and hope in the Almighty they will be given the power to go far.

“I will give all my support to them and Angola because we are coming from down here. We have been looked down on [by] people from other countries, they don’t trust us but I give my support to them.

“We played Cameroon [in the qualifiers], we beat them. It’s the same thing it’s football. If they believe they will do it.

“It’s all about belief so if they believe they will go all out and then they will surprise a lot of people”
