In our latest edition out earlier this week, iDiski Times named its Best AFCON XI, with four Bafana Bafana players recognised.
While CAF’s official Team of the Tournament only included two South Africans, our internal selection included four players – Goalkeeper of the Tournament Ronwen Williams, Teboho Mokoena, Aubrey Modiba and Khuliso Mudau.
In fact, seven South Africans were recognised overall in the bigger selection, with three others making the substitutes list and ‘squad’.
Bafana surprised many by finishing third at the Africa Cup of Nations, considering by many to be the best AFCON of all time.
