Ahly President Makes Decision After Derby Win

Al Ahly President Mahmoud El-Khatib has made a U-turn on the fines he imposed on Pitso Mosimane and the squad with an ‘exceptional’ bonus after the Cairo Derby victory.

‘Bibo’ imposed an R282 000 fine on Mosimane and each of the members of the first-team squad after their shock Egypt Super Cup final defeat at the hands of Tala’ea El-Gaish.

But straight after their historic 5-3 win over Zamalek on Friday evening, he heaped praise on their incredible display at the Cairo International Stadium and made the call to cancel the punishment he imposed in September.

Along with their bonuses, Mosimane has allowed the squad to have five days rest before returning to first-team training – two days before they face off against Al Mokalwoon in the Egyptian Premier League.
