Al Ahly have confirmed that Percy Tau will rejoin the club’s training after Friday’s CAF Champions League encounter, meaning he could be ready to face his former club Mamelodi Sundowns.
Tau, who started his professional career at Masandawana, has missed the last few weeks, including the FIFA Club World Cup, after picking up a muscle injury in January.
The 27-year-old, though, has stepped up his recovery and should rejoin the club’s training in the beginning of the new week, his club confirmed.
Team doctor Abu Abla said that “Percy Tau is recovering well from his quadriceps muscle injury and that he will rejoin the team’s full training sessions after our game against Al Hilal of Sudan in Matchday 2 of the CAF Champions League group stage.”
Al Ahly face Al Hilal Omdurman on Friday, 18 February – a week before their encounter with Sundowns on 25 February.
Tau should also be available for Bafana Bafana’s March fixtures against France and Zambia.
