Amajimbos Advance To Semis

South Africa’s U17 advanced to the semi-final of the U17 COSAFA Cup after convincingly beating Comoros.

After starting into the tournament with a 4-0 over Botswana in the opening match, they continued where they left off against Comoros.

Selwyn Stevens opened the scoring inside six minutes, making it 1-0 for Amajimbos after an error from the Comoros goalkeeper.

South Africa dominated the first half and created numerous opportunities but failed to take any, with the Comoros goalkeeper the busiest player in the first stanza.

The second half kicked off with Amajimbos looking for that second goal, and it came in the 65th minute after putting pressure on Comoros when Kamohelo Mareletse made it 2-0.

This win confirmed that Amajimbos qualified for the semi-finals as they will finish top of their group regardless of the last match results.

Majola Sekgoto made it 3-0 in the 86th minute to put the cherry on for Vela Khumalo’s side.
