Aziz Ki Slams Vilakazi Showboating

Young Africans SC star Stephane Aziz was not impressed with Mfundo Vilakazi’s showboating in Amakhosi’s 4-0 defeat to the Tanzanians champions, labelling it a waste of time.

Aziz Ki was Man of the Match in the game after netting twice to hand new Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi a humbling defeat in his first official friendly match in the inaugural Toyota Cup.

During the game, ‘Obrigado’ was seen showing off some skills, with the score-line at 0-1 just before half-time.

It has sparked another debate about showboating in South Africa, with Aziz Ki clearly not a fan of it.

“First of all, I respect my job because I can say football is my job. I love football,” he told SABC Sport and iDiski Times journalist Velile Mnyandu, who was talking to the Yanga superstar alongside Farpost’s Mthokozisi Dube, when asked about the incident.

“I like to learn. In football you can see at a high level, you will never see [Cristiano] Ronaldo or the top players do that. This is a waste of time.

“When you lose 2-0 (sic. 1-0) and you do this, it’s nonsense.

“I was feeling sad when I see the young player doing this, it’s not something nice. Because for me really football is always control-pass, controll-pass – not to joke with the ball.”
