The cherry on top was to beat Azam by a comfortable 2-0 away from home and keep their hopes of winning their NBC Premier League for the first time since the 2020/21 season.
Davids highly praised his technical staff for the work they’ve done to make sure they beat Azam, and added on how CAFCC is helping them to grow.
“Huge credit to the player’s fantastic application, huge credit to my technical team coach Darren the assistant coach, coach Majola the analysis, and the entire technical team in terms of the work they’ve been doing behind the scenes,” Davids told the media.
“The analysis is to be able to put the pressing structure and set pressing traps. The disappointment is that we couldn’t score the second and third in the first half I think we should’ve killed the game off in the first half by winning the ball and the movements, what we’ve planned, what we’ve analysed.
“The second half was very interesting to see how we would be able to maintain the intensity of the first half keeping in mind that we coming from a very intense match against Al Ahli Tripoli which is why the triple subs after 60 minutes.
“These matches in CAF also help us in terms of managing the game. We know how to manage our energy we know that we have another match on Sunday so huge compliment and huge lessons. Our team is growing step by step to manage a game of this magnitude.”
Simba currently sit third in the NBC Premier League one point adrift of leaders Black Stars who have played a game more.
