Despite having a largely inexperienced squad, Eritrea head coach Hesham Yakan is banking on his “excellent goalkeeper” as the underdogs target a monumental upset against Bafana Bafana.
The two sides clash for the first time on neutral turf at the Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo this evening.

The Red Sea Camels find themselves in second spot behind South Africa and were unlucky to come away with just a point in their 1-1 draw against Kenya with Ryan Ogam striking in the 87th minute for the hosts.
Yonathan Sultan, who plies his trade for Green Gully in Australia has been identified as the pillar of the team while forward Ali Sulieman, and Sheffield United’s Siem Eyob-Abraha could be a thorn for the Bafana defence.
Ahead of tonight’s clash, Yakan is praying they pull off an upset while praising his shotstopper.
“There are professionals in the Eritrean team, but they play in the second, third and fourth tiers in Europe,” the coach said as per SuperSport.com
“The next match against South Africa is a very difficult game.
“God willing, we will get a good result. We have an excellent goalkeeper.”
The fixture gets underway at 18:00.
