Ghana Rope In 5 Stars From Europe

The Black Stars have successfully managed to convince five players from the Premier League, LaLiga and Bundesliga to switch their allegiances from their birth countries to Ghana.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has given an update on the availability of Tariq Lamptey (Brighton & Hove Albion), Inaki Williams (Athletic Bilbao), Stephen Ambrosius (Hamburger SV), Patric Pfeiffer (SV Damstadt 98) and Ransford-Yeboah Koningsdorferr (Hamburger SV) after numerous interactions between the players, their parents and the hierarchy at the GFA about representing the West African nation.

These players are now officially available for selection of the Ghana national team, which could see them participate in upcoming internationals and most importantly the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

“The availability of these players’ means a lot to the Ghana Football Association and the Technical team of the Black Stars,” President Edwin Simeon-Okraku told Ghana FA Communications.

“We have always maintained that we will not limit ourselves to only a small group of players but would scout top talents across the globe who are ready to sacrifice for the nation and to take us to the next level.

“This gives the Technical team more options to choose from adding to our continuous desire to improve the team,” continued the Ghana Football Association President.

“Coach Otto Addo and his Technical team will continue to monitor and assess them for future assignments including the September games and the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.”
