Guinea-Bissau defender Fernandy Mendy has explained how he plans to stop Egypt superstar Mohamed Salah when they meet Egypt in Africa Cup of Nations.

The Senegal-born footballer will be representing Guinea-Bissau’s national team for the first time and says he is ready to help his side to deal with the Liverpool star.
Mendy admitted that it will not be easy knowing Salah’s capabilities, but he is confident their team work will bring the left-footed player down.
“He’s one of the best players in the world, so he has his qualities and I have mine,” he told Sky Sports.
“Mo is much better than me, so I’ll just try to do my best and try to stop him. I have teammates, and they’re going to help me. If I can’t catch him, someone else will catch him.
“Just being in the squad is amazing. I’m just going to enjoy the moment and try to get into the team. Normally, players can’t stop Mo Salah, but we’re going to try to do our best.”
Guinea-Bissau were drawn in Group D alongside Egypt, Nigeria as well as their AFCON first challenge Sudan.
