Bafana Bafana have climbed one spot in the latest FIFA world rankings published on Thursday.
South Africa picked up two crucial wins in the latest 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, beating Lesotho and Benin.

They are currently on an 18-match unbeaten run and have won six out of the last seven games under Hugo Broos.
Despite the massive upswing in form Bafana only climbed one spot in the latest world rankings and now sit in 56th place.
However, that position secure Bafana a place in the top 10 in Africa, with Morocco the highest-ranked African nation in 12th overall.
They are followed in 19th by Senegal, while Egypt are 32nd. Algeria in 36th and Ivory Coast in 41st complete Africa’s top five.
Nigeria are in 43rd, Tunisia 49th and Cameroon in 50th, with Mali 53rd and Bafana 56th.
