Mane & Co Receive R1.3m Plus Two Plots Of Land

Sadio Mane and his Senegal teammates will all be heavily rewarded for winning the first ever African Cup of Nations title with the Lions of Teranga.

The team coached by Aliou Cisse, who lost the 2002 AFCON final as player and also fell short to Algeria as coach in the previous edition, finally lifted the country’s first ever African crown after beating Egypt on penalties in the final.

As a consequence, Senegal president Macky Sall has welcomed the likes of Mane, Edouard Mendy and captain Kalidou Koulibaly to decorate them with the National Order of the Lion.

In addition, all players and technical staff will each also receive 50 million Central African France, which equates to around R1.3 million.

But that’s not enough, as the president promised each member of the Senegalese team a 200 m2 plot of land in the capital Dakar and another plot of 500 m2 in Diamniadio.

Senegal’s players celebrated their home coming over the last two days, with hundreds of thousands of fans flocking the streets to welcome their heroes.
