Mdaka Reacts To Amajita’s Win Over Botswana

Amajita head coach Raymond Mdaka has expressed delight in playing personnel after his charges claimed back-to-back wins against Botswana in a friendly international on Tuesday afternoon.

After scoring 10 goals and conceding only one against Botswana in the space of two days, Mdaka was left impressed by the performance of the boys, stating that he saw exactly what he wanted to see from his players after making several changes for their second encounter against the Young Zebras.

With only local-based players in camp, Mdaka will have a headache when it comes to selecting the final squad for the U20 AFCON that is set to take place in Ivory Coast with the former Marumo Gallants head coach stating that South Africa has what it takes to compete in the AFCON with the quality of players they have.

“Exactly [I saw what I wanted to see] in terms of the personnel, the players,” Mdaka told SABC Sport after match.

“You could see when we started there was a number of players that we wanted to see so that when we did the final selection whether they could assist us or not. I think the game itself has given us the platform and the opportunity to be able to see where we are with regards to the other players.

“We think so far, we have a team that can compete and just have to sort out here and there. You know we dealing with boys. Boys are boys sometimes the game becomes so nice for them and forget the basic principles, but I think we’ve got a core.”
