Munetsi Earns Recognition In France For Major Revival

Former Orlando Pirates talent Marshall Munetsi has secured the Player of the Month gong at Paris FC as he continues to drive the club towards Ligue 1 safety.

Munetsi, 29, returned to France in January on loan from Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers where he scored four goals with two assists in 31 games but with the club struggling for form – so did his impact wane.

But now since his move to Paris, in a country where he spent six years with Stade de Reims, Munetsi has once again found himself with four goals in his last six Ligue 1 outings with the club only suffering one defeat in 11 games since being added to their midfield.

Permanent Move Loading?

With Wolves set to be relegated to the Championship, Munetsi appears likely to leave the club after his loan move, with the Zimbabwe international suggesting he feels at home in his new surroundings.

“I feel good here alongside some players that I know. We get on well and you see that on the pitch. You can’t buy this atmosphere; it’s there, or it isn’t. I came for six months and I am focused on the six games remaining,” he said, as per Get Football News France.

“We will see what discussions are had at the end of the season. There is a great project here. My family like it here in Paris. My two boys were born in France. It is also my country a bit.”

Having arrived in South Africa in the National First Division in 2015 with FC Cape Town, Munetsi joined Orlando Pirates and spent time on loan at Baroka twice before his move to Europe in 2019.
