Nigeria dropped points for a fifth time in the current 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after being held to a draw by Zimbabwe.
The Super Eagles looked like they were able to pick up back-to-back wins after Victor Osimhen put his side 1-0 up after 74 minutes.
However, Tawanda Chirewa equalised in the 90th minute to secure a draw for the Warriors, handing Nigeria another blow in Group C.
Meanwhile, Rwanda also dropped points in Group C, being held to a surprise draw by Lesotho. Jojea Kwizera had opened the scoring for the hosts but Lehlohonolo Fothoane equalised in the 82nd minute.
As a consequence, Bafana moved five points clear of second-placed Rwanda and six ahead of Nigeria in fourth, while Benin are in third.
