Pitso Mosimane has revealed very ambitious targets for Al Ahly for the 2021/22 campaign after their 100% start to the season.
The Club of the Century have won all of their first six Egyptian Premier League games and already opened a five-point gap over defending champions Zamalek.
The league has now gone into a break due to the FIFA Arab Cup and will only continue on 21 December when Al Ahly face 10th-placed Future.
Mosimane has now revealed that he wants to lift the two main competitions this season and also better their third-place finish from the FIFA Club World Cup.
“We are aiming to reclaim the Egyptian Premier League title, as well as winning our third consecutive CAF Champions League,” he told Al Ahly TV, as per Kingfut.
“We will also try to improve our FIFA Club World Cup placing, we want to get better results.”
Mosimane also highlighted the importance of the fans before insisting the team will play even better in future.
“Our fans are very important to us, they push us to win during the league games. I wish more fans were able to attend the games but I understand it’s because of precautionary measures.
“I still need more time to perform better with the team, we will try to control the games and have a faster pace on the pitch.”
