Pyramids FC head coach Krunoslav Jurcic believes Orlando Pirates have an advantage over his side due to their experience in the CAF Champions League, while his team was only formed six years ago.
Some say Pyramids are the ‘The Manchester City of Egypt’ due the cash injections the club received after being bought in 2018. This season, they are fighting for the league title and are among the last four of the Champions League for the first time.

Jurcic has praised his team’s development but also put the favourites tag to the Buccaneers, who have won the competition in 1995.
“I know very well how difficult it is to face Orlando Pirates at home and in front of their fans,” he stated, as per Yallakora.
“I realize that our opponent, compared to Pyramids FC, has continental experience and has previously played in the finals, while my team is new and has only been in existence for six years.
“What we have achieved is a source of great pride, and we must continue on the path with all our strength.
“I am proud that Pyramids is among the continent’s top four. Matches between Egyptian and South African clubs have a special character, and for Pyramids to be in this ideal position is wonderful, and we strive to develop.”
Jurcic insisted he has done his home work ahead of Saturday’s clash at FNB Stadium, and also revealed his side will focus on their own playing style rather than adjust to the home side’s.
“I’ve watched many Orlando matches and I know everything about the team,” he continued.
“The players are eager to perform at their best and return from Johannesburg with a result that secures qualification for the final.
“I won’t change much of the game plan or team formation because of the opponent, because Pyramids has its own unique style and approach, and will work in the same way to secure a place in the final.”
