Stade d’Abidjan head coach Alexandre Lafitte has maintain a positive attitude in believing they can beat Orlando Pirates in order to increase their progression chances.
The Ivory Coast side remains rooted at the bottom of Group C, but last night’s results between CR Belouizdad and Al Ahly SC have opened chances for any of the four sides to advance into the knockout stages.
D’Abidjan are yet to win a game in the group stages after losing to Belouizdad and Al Ahly and then held Pirates to a 1-1 away in Abidjan.
Lafitte believes that Pirates have their own weaknesses which he vows to expose stating that they want to surprise them as they aim to progress to the next round of the CAF Champions League.
“Though we respect them, we believe like any other team there are always some weaknesses, but this is not the place for us to unveil those weaknesses, but we will try to exploit that,” Lafitte said.
“As I said again, I believe we need to beat them in order for us to progress, yes there are weaknesses so do we but we not gonna unveil them.

“I believe there’s hope if you look at the results. Yes, we lost against Al Ahly 4-2, at home we lost against Belouizdad then we drew against Orlando Pirates so if you look at how the results have been coming you can see that there’s an improvement so we trying to take one step at a time and try to improve everything, we know what is at stake.”
