Three PSL Stars In Latest Zim Squad, Musona Snubbed

Zimbabwe national team head coach Michael Nees has announced his 23-man squad for the upcoming friendlies against Burkina Faso and Niger in Morocco next month with veteran striker Knowledge Musona not getting a nod.

Perhaps the most deserving of the three South African-based players is that of Elvis Chipezeze who has been in superb form for his Betway Premiership outfit Magesi FC as they clinched the Carling Knockout Cup in their debut season in top-flight football and retained their status.

Chipezeze is currently in the running for the Goalkeeper of the Season award as he is leading with 11 clean sheets. 

The Marumo Gallants duo of Washington Arubi and Daniel Msendami also got recognition but Musona was snubbed though his younger brother Walter did earn another call-up. 

Arubi on the other hand has helped Gallants to survive the promotional playoffs. He managed to keep five clean sheets this season while Msendami has had a good season with Bahlabane Ba Ntwa winning several Man of the Match awards. He scored three goals and laid two assists this term.
