Mamelodi Sundowns defender Asekho Tiwani is not sure if he will be travelling with Amajita to the U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The 19 year old was named in Raymond Mdaka’s 21 man squad for the continental tournament starting later this month.
Amajita have been drawn in Group B along with the host nation, Nigeria and Morocco. There is uncertainty about the availability of certain players with clubs involved in crucial CAF Champions League matches, the league and domestic cup.
Ahead of Sundowns’ CAF Champions league semi-final 1st leg clash with Al Ahly Tiwani was asked if his club has given him clarity on the AFCON and he said not yet however he’d like to go to Egypt.
“They haven’t said anything at the club regarding the AFCON,” said Tiwani.
“Yeah I think any youngster would like to go represent their country because it’s a big tournament. You are not just representing yourself as well but you can even get a lot of opportunities.
“So I would like to go but it’s not up to me the team will decide. At this stage I don’t know if I’m going.”
