ZIFA Give Mahachi Injury Update

The Zimbabwe Football Association has given an update on the injury of Kudakwashe Mahachi which could rule him out of the first match of AFCON in Cameroon.

The SuperSport United midfielder was replaced by his club teammate Onismor Bhasera after picking up an injury in a friendly match against Sudan at Rain Forest International School Stadium on Sunday.

The left-footed footballer picked up an injury in the first half in a game that ended goalless, and the team has now given an update.

“He is expected to shake off the thigh contusion from yesterday’s match vs Sudan in the next three days,” ZIFA’s statement reads.

Zimbabwe will kick off their campaign in Cameroon against Senegal on Monday, January 10.

The Warriors have qualified for their third consecutive AFCON and been drawn in Group B alongside Senegal, Malawi and Guinea.
