Zimbabwe president Emmerson Mnangangwa has welcomed former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns forward Khama Billiat back in the country.
Billiat made a surprise return to his home country this past January, with several local teams fighting for his signature and Premier Soccer League Yadah Football Club eventually winning the race.
He was unveiled by Yadah at The Heart Stadium in front of thousands of football supporters.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns forward made his debut this past weekend when Yadah lost 1-0 to Hwanga Colliery away from home.
But this week, Billiat and his new club visited Zim president Mnangangwa, who shared some words of encouragement with Billiat and praised him for raising Zimbabwean flag and representing the country with flying colours.
“Be comfortable in the nation, this nation is ready to look after its own children and enhance their talent,” Mnangangwa said per Yadah.
“If any opportunity comes please don’t hesitate to take it and thrive as much as possible.
“Tell your other guys who are outside the country to do good for Zimbabwe and always raise the flag!”
