Zimbabwe & Senegal Starting Line-Ups Announced

Zimbabwe coach Norman Mapeza has announced his starting XI to face a depleted Senegal, who have several stars sidelined with Covid-19.

The Warriors enter the game on the back of a horrible run that has seen them win just one of their last 19 games in all competitions.

They have also never beaten Senegal, having lost their three fixtures against the Teranga Lions.

However, on Monday, Senegal will miss nine players due to Covid-19, including Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.

Zimbabwe, meanwhile, will have to do without Khama Billiat, who retired from international football before the Africa Cup of Nations. In addition, Marvelous Nakamba, Marshall Munetsi and Brendan Galloway are missing the tournament due to injuries.

It’s Zimbabwe’s fifth AFCON tournament and their third in a row, but The Warriors are yet to make it passed the group stages.

Here is how they line up:

Zimbabwe: Mhari, Chimwemwe, Bhasera, Hadebe, Takwara, Mazongwe, Wadi, Musona, Dube, Benyu, Kangwa.

Senegal: Dieng, Mbaye, P.A. Cisse, Diallo, B. Toure, Gana, B. Sarr, Kouyate, Balde Keita, B. Dia, Mane.
