Broos On Tau’s Performance After Bafana Win

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos is adamant that the best is yet to come from Percy Tau after he made his return to the national team.

‘The Lion of Judah’ was handed a start after taking some time off to deal with personal matters that saw him endure a frustrating end toward his final days at Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

The 30-year-old has since made the move to the Gulf to join Qatar SC and has been a regular starter with Broos praising his performance against Lesotho in their 2-0 win at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Friday night.

“First of all, and I said it also, we couldn’t be happy with the performances of Percy in the previous games. That was not the level of Percy,” Broos said in his post-match presser, as per SABC Sport.

“And today, you can tell he played a fantastic game, but he worked a lot. He worked a lot!

“And that is now he’s used to playing the games. When you don’t have those games and the rhythm, you can’t do that.

“So, I’m sure of it that more and more, we will see the best of Percy again because he’s playing now in Qatar.

“Okay, I can always be more, and I’m honest, we can expect more.

“But I’m very happy with his performance today because he worked a lot for the team.”
