After Hugo Broos announced his final 23-man Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming June friendlies, 19 players didn’t make the cut.
Bafana take on Tanzania on 6 June at Peter Mokaba Stadium before facing Mozambique four days later at Loftus Versfeld.
With Broos opting against inviting Mamelodi Sundowns players, others will have a chance to impress the Belgian tactician ahead of the next round of FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September.
The Bafana coach initially released a 41-man preliminary squad and now cut 19 players, saying the bulk of those player will now be included in the COSAFA Cup squad, with that tournament also falling into the current FIFA break.
Broos did make one change and called up Stellenbosch FC striker Ashley Cupido, meaning he had to cut 19 players from his initial selection.
