Bafana & Zimbabwe Starting XI Announced

Bafana Bafana and Zimbabwe have confirmed their starting line-ups for this evening’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at Free State Stadium.

South Africa will play in Bloemfontein for the first time in 14 years, just five days after Hugo Broos’ side played a 1-1 draw against struggling Nigeria three days ago in Uyo.

Bafana find themselves sitting fourth place in Group C, with three games from three matches.

The group is surprisingly led by Benin after they shockingly beat Nigeria 2-1 on Tuesday. A win for Bafana could see them going to the top of the group – depending on the other results.

The Warriors also have a chance to close the gap at the top, as they sit at the bottom with just two points after three matches.

These two sides faced each other five times since 2010, South Africa won two and Zimbabwe won two, with one game ending as a draw.

Here is how they line up:

Bafana Bafana XI: Williams (c), Mvala, Ngezana, Mudau, Modiba, Sithole, Mokoena, Zwane, Appollis, Mokwana, Rayners

Subs: Mothwa, Goss, Mobbie, Mofokeng, Adams, Foster, Tau, Maswanganyi, Aubaas, Msimango, Sibisi, Morena

Zimbabwe XI: Chitsumba, Lunga, Garananga, Takwara, Murwira, Hachiro, Munetsi (c), Rinomhota, Mapfumo, Chirewa, Musona.
