Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker has extended his well wishes for Bafana Bafana ahead of their AFCON participation in Morocco.
The wait is almost over for the AFCON; the final squad has already been announced by the Belgium mentor. After finishing in third place in the previous AFCON in Ivory Coast, there’s expectations this time around that they might go a step further or possibly win it. But it won’t be easy as they are no longer a surprise package.

Barker took time to wish Hugo Broos and Bafana Bafana best of luck in the AFCON in two weeks’ time.
The Stellenbosch FC mentor has been showing support to the national team throughout and even though Stellies might not have a player included in the 26-man squad that will go to Morocco, that didn’t make Barker sour as he stands with his country despite the difficulties he is facing at Stellies.
“I’m very proud of what they’ve achieved in the last while, and we’re fully behind them, and we wish, Coach Hugo Broos, and the whole squad, the best of luck,” Barker told iDiski Times.
“Let’s go one step further in the last AFCON, and why not go there and win it? So, yeah, all the best to them. Fully behind them and support them.”
