Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos described his charges’ unbeaten 2025 African Cup of Nations qualification campaign as a “wonderful night” at DHL Stadium on Tuesday night.
South Africa made light work of South Sudan with three unanswered goals courtesy of strikes from Iqraam Rayners, Patrick Maswanganyi and a second-half penalty from Teboho Mokoena to finish top of Group K with 14 points, winning four matches and drawing two.

The Belgian tactician, who was in jubilant mood, complimented his troops for executing the plan to the tee despite this fixture being viewed as a dead rubber and equally giving Cape Town football fans a great night.
“Most important thing was that we were qualified but we wanted to show something today to this crowd,” Broos told SABC Sport.
“I think we succeeded. We played a wonderful game with many chances to score. Three goals, good game – technically very high, so I’m very, very happy today.
“That’s what I like the most [ability to score more goals] maybe of this game. The boys went back and in minutes to score as much as possible. They wanted to give this crowd a wonderful night, a wonderful afternoon.
