Broos Announces Final Bafana Squad

Hugo Broos has announced his final Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Belgian tactician had named a 38-man preliminary squad and has now cut it down to 23 players.

Bafana will start their AFCON qualification with a home game against Uganda at Orlando Stadium on 6 September before traveling to South Sudan four days later.

South Africa are currently 10 games unbeaten under Broos, with their last defeat coming at the 2023 AFCON opener against Mali in January.

Broos announced his 23-man squad on Thursday, with Sipho Chaine, Rushwin Dortley, Fawaaz Basadien and Thalente Mbatha the new faces in Broos’ senior squad, while Ronwen Williams misses out due to injury.
