Bafana Bafana coach has expressed his disappointment after DR Congo seemingly had more fans at Orlando Stadium than hosts South Africa on Tuesday.
Broos saw his team beat The Leopards 1-0 thanks to a first-half goal by Lyle Foster to stretch their recent unbeaten run to nine games.
But despite Bafana bringing in positive results, fans have again opted to stay away from the national team, with supporters of the visitors taking over an unexpected portion of Orlando Stadium.
With DRC seemingly playing a home game away from home, Broos was not happy with the turnout and pleaded with South African fans.
“First of all, I had the feeling it’s an away game today. It’s a little bit disappointing that again when you see today the stadium there were more supporters from Congo than for us,” he told journalists.
“I hope in the future that we will have more support.
“You see today also when you have the fans behind you what that can give. Congo believed even more, they grew in the game, they were supported.
“We have some very difficult moments and then you need them [the fans]. Again they were not there or not enough.
“That’s a little bit disappointing, I hope in the future that we can have a better crowed than in the last two games.”
