Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has opened up about his relationship with PSL coaches saying he wasn’t going to act like a fool and continue trying to meet them through the PSL as the league wasn’t helpful.
Broos’ comments come as two coaches Miguel Cardoso of Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates’ Abdeslam Ouaddou recently spoke about the open and healthy relationship with Broos about players from their respective clubs recently.

The Bafana coach was asked at the announcement of the squad to play Zambia in a friendly to expand further on the relationship with the coaches. He opened up about how in the past he had tried to have all the coaches in the league meet with him but was unsuccessful and how he gave up.
The Belgian however said he appreciates the current improved relations which is how things should but will not be attempting to get the coaches in a group anymore.
“You know four years ago I asked to have a meeting with all the PSL coaches and in four attempts they cancelled it, PSL, in four attempts,” said Broos.
“There was even the last attempt I tried to have a meeting they didn’t even send the invitations to the clubs. So, for me it was done, finished. I’m not a fool so I didn’t try to have the coaches anymore. After four attempts and every time they said no, no, no sorry for that.
“But with those guys Pirates phoned me also with [Jose] Riveiro he said you wanted to meet the coach I said yes, same thing happened with Sundowns. So, I have met now with Cardoso, I met the guy who is now with Arrows [Manqoba] Mngqithi and the coach who was before him. So, I met them and this is what it has to be.
“We don’t have to be rivals we are colleagues, so we have had a very good relationship with those coaches, a very good relationship. So, if the teams want, I don’t have a problem but I’m sorry I will not again try to have the coaches together maybe again have the PSL answer no.
“Okay when coaches want to meet me, I’m always there I’m always open to do it.”
