Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has shared his views after his team’s 5-0 loss to world champions France in Lille on Tuesday night.
It was a disappointing night for the South Africans, who were outclassed in the 5-0 loss, and also ended the match with ten men.
However, Broos insisted that the result was a good learning curve for his young team and no shame to concede so many goals against the world champions.
“We knew before the game that there was a difference in level between the two teams,” he said after the match.
“But for us as I said yesterday the result was not important, it was for the experience. We’re a young team with young players. We don’t have the experience that French players have, we don’t have the quality that French players have.
“This is the world champions. We fight for it, we did what we had to do, but ok when there is such a difference of quality, it can happen that you lose the game with this result.
“It’s not a shame for us that we lose the game 5-0. We know why and again the experience we have today to play against such a team is more worth than the result today.”
