Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has announced a 44-member preliminary squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda next month.
As usual, Broos will still trim his squad to 23 players, but he did include more names than usual in his preliminary selection.
Broos’ charges host Benin at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on the weekend of 17 to 19 November 2023 and then travel to Huye to face Rwanda on Tuesday 21 November 2023.
“The team will go into camp at the University of Pretoria on Monday 13 November 2023 and travel to Durban on 16 October 2023,” SAFA stated.
“After playing Benin in the coastal city, they will travel to Rwanda on 19 November 2023 and return to South Africa on 22 November.”
