Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos was pleased with his side’s 2-0 win over Lesotho at a packed Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday.
Bafana downed Lesotho thanks to second-half goals by Relebohile Mofokeng and Jayden Adams.
The result saw Broos’ men climb to the top of Group C with 10 points from five games, which left the Belgian mentor visibly pleased after full-time.
“It was very important today that we had the three points,” he said on SABC.
“We knew that it would be a tough game. We played against a team that just didn’t want to lose.
“We had four good chances in the first half but we didn’t score, so we corrected some things and we started very good in the second half, immediately there was pressure.
“Once you score the first goal you’ve done the most difficult [part]. It was a little bit late in the game but the most important thing was that we have the victory today and we have the three points.”
