Broos – Rwanda Threat Bafana Should Be Wary Of

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has cautioned his side about a specific Rwanda threat that they need to prepared for in their upcoming clash.

South Africa and Amavubi will lock horns in their final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Tuesday at the Mbombela Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 6pm.

Bafana are approaching this match aiming for a decisive victory with a large goal margin to strengthen their qualification hopes, all while monitoring the outcome of the clash between Nigeria and Benin.

The coach cautioned his players not to overcommit in attack, as leaving space behind them would play into the hands of Rwanda, who are dangerous when transitioning to attack.

“We will be ready to win the game, I don’t think we will play to score as many goals as possible,” said Broos in the press conference on Monday.

“If we do that, that can be very dangerous against the opponents of tomorrow [Tuesday]. They are very dangerous in transition.

“If you’re going attack blindly and not keeping it in your mind on what will happen if you happen to lose the ball, you will have many problems.

“Let us first win the game and then see if it’s not possible to win it with as many goals as possible. But the most important thing is to win, and then yeah, we will see.”
