Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has highlighted the key area where his team has made significant progress over the past two years, an element of the game they struggled with at previous AFCON.
South Africa flew to Morocco on Wednesday to continue preparations for the continental tournament, with their opening match against Angola scheduled for Monday.

Broos recalled that in their first game of the previous AFCON against Mali, they were overpowered by physical strength and struggled, ultimately losing the match.
He believes the team has improved in that area, pointing to recent performances where they held their own against physically strong teams like Nigeria.
“In the first game at last AFCON against Mali, we were confronted with something we didn’t know – power,” said Broos.
“We were not prepared for what Mali did to us in the second half. They took us on power, but you’ve seen the progression of Bafana Bafana in the last two years.
“If you have a game against Nigeria in mind a few months ago. You can see that now we can also play with power; we can resist power.
“So, that means we don’t have to be afraid of this AFCON. Even with…I’ve heard that some countries are saying South Africa can win AFCON.
“So, now we are, maybe, one of the many favourites because if you compare teams in this edition to the last, you can see this one will be much tougher.”
