Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has revealed he told his players it’s not the time to doubt and question everything they have built in recent years despite the disappointing result against Zimbabwe.
Broos’ men were shell-shocked after the goalless draw against the Warriors took the fate of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup out of their hands, with Bafana now relying on Nigeria getting a win or draw against Group C leaders Benin.

But Bafana need to do their own homework this time around, as only a win over Rwanda – ideally by at least two goals – will be enough to keep their hopes of qualifying alive.
“I told the players, it was not a good result for us,” he stated in his pre-match press conference.
“But this is not a moment to start doubting ourselves, about the strength and quality of the team.
“We don’t have to do what some are doing now, start doubting, start putting everything in question. I don’t think it’s the right thing to do now.
“We have to support the team and I’m sure we will be ready tomorrow. We are ready to win the game, but we all know that’s not enough.
“Let’s hope on the other side that the Gods are with us, and that we see the result that everyone hopes for in Nigeria – and that is that Benin loses the game.”
Bafana take on Rwanda at Mbombela Stadium at 18:00 on Tuesday.
