Foster – Pressure Is On Nigeria

Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster believes there is no pressure on them when they face Nigeria in the FIFA World Cup qualification.

South Africa faces the Super Eagles on Tuesday evening with Hugo Broos’s side currently top of Group C with 16 points, while Nigeria is in third place with 10 points.

Anything less than a win would end Nigeria’s hope of finishing in first place and automatically qualifying for the World Cup and Foster emphasised that Bafana is not under pressure and that instead the Super Eagles are as they are the ones chasing.

The Burnley striker comes to this game with a lot of confidence after scoring in the last two matches against Manchester United and Lesotho.

“I don’t necessarily think there’s pressure on us. I think at the moment we are where we are in the group, and I think that’s the positive,” Foster told the Bafana media.

“I think the pressure is on the guys trying to get to us but that doesn’t mean we should take our foot off the gas or take our foot off the pedal.

“We should have the same mentality; keep steady, play game by game, stay humble, take the game as it comes. I don’t think there’s pressure, the pressure is on those trying to get to us. We’ve had a good start.

“The most thing try to push and make sure that we seal it.”
