France coach Didier Deschamps has confirmed that Kylian Mbappe is ready to face Bafana Bafana after missing Friday’s friendly against Ivory Coast.
The Paris Saint-Germain superstar missed Friday’s 2-1 win due to an ENT infection, but is ready to face South Africa in Lille on Tuesday.
Deschamps confirmed that Mbappe has returned to the squad, even though he ended up short of confirming whether he will start or not.
“He is much better, he will be there on Tuesday,” Deschamps said as per ESPN h/t TF1.
Mbappe has been one of the standout performers in Europe this season, scoring 26 goals and assisting in another 17 in 37 games for PSG.
He’s also scored 7 goals and set up four more in his last four games for France.
