Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Ricardo Goss has made an admission about Morocco, who played out a 1-1 draw against the mighty Brazil in their 2026 FIFA World Cup opener.
The Bafana team and head coach Hugo Broos have suffered fierce criticism following a poor performance and their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Mexico in their tournament opener last week.

Meanwhile, Morocco—who were the second African nation to feature after South Africa—stood their ground and at times even dominated the match against the South American giants.
Goss says Morocco inspired them with that solid performance against the five-time world champions, adding that it shows all African teams that they can compete against anyone in the tournament.
“Yeah, that game is actually good for the people from Africa,” said Goss in the press conference, as per Mahlatse Mphahlele.
“It also gives the other African teams that confidence that they can match any team that’s out there.
“We actually do draw inspiration from such games and from Morocco as well. We just need to prove it against Czechia in the next game.”
Ivory Coast remains the only African side to have secured maximum points, beating Ecuador 1-0 early on Monday morning.
