Khanye – These Two Bafana Stars Should Be In Europe

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has applauded Bafana Bafana performance’s against Nigeria despite losing on penalties, and suggested Ronwen Williams and Teboho Mokoena should move to Europe.

Bafana Bafana surprised many on the African continent when they reached the semi-finals of the African Cup Of Nations for the first time since 2000.

Hugo Broos’ side was one step away from the final when they got eliminated by Nigeria 4-2 on penalties.

Despite the loss Khanye, who has been critical of the South African team before, applauded Bafana’s performance and the style of play that they showed against the Super Eagles.

“Bafana Bafana played one of the best games in the tournanment, it was difficult for Bafana to come back if they playing with the giants but big up to them,” Khanye said on iDiskiTV.

“To be patient and build up, I knew them of pumping up the ball , they were fearless. So hard luck to them.

Khanye also believes that it might be difficult for Mamelodi Sundowns to keep hold of Williams and Mokoena after their top performances in the tournament.

“Hard luck to Ronwen Williams, he deserves to go to Europe. Him and Mokoena, I don’t know how Sundowns will keep them.”

Williams kept four clean sheets in the AFCON and conceded just three goals, while saving a record four penalties to send Bafana to the semi-finals. Mokoena has scored two goals and produced top class performances in the tournament.
