Bafana Bafana has stayed in 11th place on the African continent and 60th overall in the latest FIFA rankings.
After the two friendly games against Panama – a 1-1 in Durban and a 2-1 defeat in Cape Town – Bafana’s position in the FIFA rankings remained unchanged even though they’ve lost ranking points.
Bafana currently have 1429.73 points, losing 4.03 points, which was actually the biggest drop among the top CAF teams.
In comparison, many other African sides actually gained points and places. Morocco remain the highest-ranked African nation in eighth spot worldwide.
Senegal dropped two spots into 14th, while Nigeria stayed in 26th position and completes Africa’s top three despite not going to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Algeria remained in 28th, followed by Egypt who climbed up two spots into 29th. Ivory Coast jumped up three places into 34th, while Tunisia also climbed up three spots into 44th.
Cameroon stayed in 45th, while DR Congo climbed up two into 46th followed by Mali in 52nd, also up two and rounding off the top 10 CAF teams, with Bafana following in 60th.
