Nigerian legend Victor Ikpeba states that the clash against Bafana Bafana during the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers is the game of their lives.
Ikpeba played for The Super Eagles in the early 1990s and made over 30 caps for the side. He also played for German giants Borussia Dortmund between 1999 and 2002.
According to Naija News, the 50-year-old sees the clash against Bafana Bafana in June as a must win and requested Nigeria stars to sacrifice if they want to win the clash.
He also described the game as Nigeria’s ‘game of their lives’ if they are to make it to the next FIFA World Cup edition.
“The game against South Africa is the game of our lives,” Ikpeba told SuperSport according to Naija News.
“Finidi has the players having only recently reached the final of the AFCON, which was one of the toughest ever.
“The boys know what is at stake. They have to be focused and make the necessary sacrifices to ensure they beat South Africa.
“It won’t be easy, but it can be done.”
The Super Eagles will first face South Africa in Nigeria, Uyo for their third match of the group before facing Benin away from home. The Super Eagles are sitting third in Group C of the qualifiers with two points.
