Official: Next Bafana Game In Cape Town

Bafana Bafana will host their final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against minnows South Sudan at the Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday, 19 November 2024.

Hugo Broos’ charges are within touching distance of securing qualification for next year’s continental showpiece in Morocco, with a win against Uganda in the penultimate clash on 15 November all but enough to see them book their ticket.

South Africa last played at the Cape Town Stadium in a friendly international back in 2015 against Angola, and currently sit second in Group K with eight points, two adrift of the Cranes who are on ten.

Bafana have won two and drawn two from their four matches played in the qualifiers.

“Yes, the game will be played at Cape Town Stadium, and we appeal to the fans to come out in numbers to provide a festive atmosphere for the team in this final Group K match,” SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan in a statement via safa.net.

“A good crowd would be the perfect reward for a team that has withstood a tough qualifying campaign plagued by injuries to several key payers. It would also be the perfect tribute to those players.”
