Panama Coach – What Will Make Bafana Rematch ‘Difficult’

Panama head coach Thomas Christiansen has outlined what he expects will make their second friendly encounter against Bafana Bafana more challenging following their recent clash last week.

The two sides played to a 1-1 draw at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday evening, with both teams showing moments of quality in a tightly contested match.

They are set to meet again on Tuesday at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town as part of their ongoing preparations for the FIFA World Cup.

Looking ahead to the fixture, Christiansen admitted that he anticipates a tougher contest this time around, mainly due to the atmosphere inside a sold-out stadium.

He believes the strong home support will give Bafana added motivation and energy.

“Well, if I speak about their weaknesses, I’m telling [you] where we’re going to attack. So, I will not mention that,” said Christiansen.

“The strength, they have good quality players, they have fast players, with a good intensity in their attacks.

“And also in defence, they know exactly what to do. So, for the game tomorrow [tonight], we’ll also be on a sold-out stadium.

“So, it will be a difficult game, but we’re looking forward to making a good game from our side.”
