Hugo Broos has cut 25 players from his preliminary Bafana Bafana squad, with five Mamelodi Sundowns players and four from Orlando Pirates dropping out.
Bafana will take on Lesotho on 5 September and Nigeria four days later, with both games being played at Bloemfontein Stadium.
Broos’ men currently top Group C with 13 points from six games, five ahead of second-placed Rwanda and third-placed Benin, with Nigeria at fourth place with seven points.
Broos had selected a 48-man preliminary squad and had to cut 25 players due to various reasons.
Among those cut are Khuliso Mudau, Thapelo Morena, Fawaaz Basadien, Malibongwe Khoza and the injured Themba Zwane from Sundowns.
In addition, Broos also cut Pirates’ Nkosinathi Sibisi, Sipho Mbule, Evidence Makgopa and Deano Van Rooyen, with the latter being injured.
