Ramovic – What Broos Told Me About Rulani Call

TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic has accused Rulani Mokwena of telling lies about a conversation Mokwena had with Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos.

Ramovic went on a close to 15-minute tirade on Thursday, when asked about his ongoing feud with Sundowns coach Mokwena.

As part of his version of events Ramovic also dismissed claims by Mokwena that the Sundowns coach had spoken to Broos over the Bafana coach calling him the “Jose Mourinho of South Africa”.

Mokwena stated on Monday that he called Broos to tell him his displeasure at those comments, and that the Belgian subsequently apologised. However, Ramovic accused Mokwena of lying about his call with Broos.

“So the other talk when he also called [Hugo] Broos and [said] he apologised. I had a talk with him yesterday, with Broos and with his permission, I asked him if I can tell you what he told me and he said yes,” he stated on Thursday.

“I will never say anything when I have a private talk but with the permission of Broos, he said ‘yes, of course because it’s true’.

“He [Rulani] never called Broos and he [Broos] never apologised to Rulani. This is a big lie but this is what I don’t deal. Sundowns has to deal with a coach that put out some stories that are not true.

“If you don’t believe me, ask Broos, because I talked to him and he just told me. The things he says in the media about Mourinho, he did not say and he sent a message to Rulani that he did not say this, that’s it, because he doesn’t have anything to apologise.

“Maybe who should apologise to Broos is Rulani, and you know why? After the Congo game Bafana played, Rulani went into the dressing room from Broos and I think no one should disrespect a colleague to go into their dressing room and talk to their players.

“Yes, he got an invitation from the SAFA president, but even then a [club] coach should never go there.

“So the undermining of colleagues, the disrespecting of colleagues is the high standard of morals he talks of?”

iDiski Times had hoped to get a comment from Sundowns regarding Ramovic’s comments, however Mokwena and his team are currently in camp in Mauritania preparing for their important CAF Champions League game.
