Tau Wants To See Foster Succeed In EPL

Bafana Bafana and Al Ahly SC forward Percy Tau wants to see his fellow countryman Lyle Foster succeeding in the English Premier League.

Foster has started the season with Burnley FC like a house on fire after netting two goals in three league games.

The former Orlando Pirates striker joined the Clarets midway through last season before they gained promotion to the elite league after impressing in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, with Vincent Kompany keen to add him to his troops, which resulted in Foster becoming South Africa’s most expensive transfer.

Tau, who himself was once coached by former the Manchester City defender and played in the Premier League – even though making just three appearance – stated that Foster deserves to be there and he wants to see him succeed.

“I feel like he deserves it and he has to be in that space and it’s a good platform for him to show them we still have quality to play in the EPL,” Tau told the media.

“He just has to keep going and keep learning. He also has Kompany with him, hopefully they will make a great relationship going forward.

“But I’m proud of him, I just want to see him keep growing.”

Both forwards have a huge responsibility on their shoulders after Bafana qualified for African Cup Of Nations in Ivory Coast next year, as they are expected to drive the nation to the latter stages of the tournament and also help Hugo Broos’ team to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
